LEADERSHIP    STRATEGIES    & TACTICS

Appendix ii

February 28, 2000

Dear Friend,

We hope that you are having a wonderful new year! We would like to thank all of you that participated in the first Partnership for Religion and the Environment meeting back on January 18th and invite you to the second meeting which will take place on March 15th at the National Conference of Catholic Bishops from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The building is located at 3211 4th Street NE, Washington DC (directions below).

Thanks to all of you who offered feedback on the last meeting. We have drafted an agenda which we feel incorporates the advice and feedback given. This meeting promises to be fantastic with Reverend Paul Ojibway as our host and discussion of Creation Care Sunday, an event sponsored by the Envangelical Environmental Network, in honor of Earth Day. We are also encouraging you to invite your local Pastor, Minister, or Rabbi, if appropriate.

All across the environmental community, individuals are seeking answers to questions regarding spirituality and stewardship. We believe the time is right for those of us here in Washington DC who are undertaking - or are interested in beginning - this personal journey to come together. Our goal is to create a sustained conversation with the intent of collaboration through which we learn from each other while mutually supporting our efforts. We hope to discuss the integration of ethics and spirituality into our organizations.

We have also opened the agenda to include an opportunity for individuals to discuss current opportunities for collaboration and background on current events.

We look forward to seeing you on March 15!

For stewardship,

Jerry Greenberg

Rabbi Daniel Swartz
