Individual Meetings
An individual meeting is your chance to transform new recruits into motivated activists and leaders. This type of meeting gives you a chance to answer questions, further an activist's interest in an issue, develop personal support and deepen his or her level of commitment.
Running an Effective Meeting
- Be knowledgeable about the campaign.
- Be enthusiastic about what you are doing.
- Be sincere about why you are involved.
- Be confident and not overbearing.
- Be perceptive about what the volunteer is saying.
- Be creative about developing opportunities.
Sample Meeting Agenda
- Introduction
- Talk to find out the person's motivations.
- Share information.
- Answer questions.
- Describe opportunities for involvement i.e. upcoming events, meetings.
- Reinforce interest level.
- Answer any additional questions.
- Schedule follow-up meeting.
